DB4O provides an inbuilt mechanism for generating a UUID for persisted objects. We could use that as an laternative representation for datastore-identity. The current datastore-identity is fine within the same JVM. If you go across JVMs then the returned identity can change. It should be noted that the DB4O "UUID" is not conforming to any particular standard so cant be used for "uuid-string", "uuid-hex".
