XCalia acquired by DataDirect

XCalia was one of the latest independent JDO commercial vendors, now acquired by DataDirect. Won't probably change their "data as service" message, and I guess their focus will be on SDO. So, who will acquire DataDirect/Progress or can they remain independent? IBM or Oracle have their own offerings...
